This is our favorite go to recipe for cornbread. You can add all the dry ingredients into a jar, bag or container and store for quick use. Just add wet ingredients, mix and bake. We have played with other recipes over the years but this recipe has always out shined them all.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups corn flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup corn meal
- 1 TBSP Baking powder
- 1 tsp Xanthan gum
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 TBSP cornstarch
- 1/3 veggie oil
- 3 TBSP butter.
Instructions
- mix all and bake at 350 degrees until toothpick inserted comes out clean. NOTES: Can be made dairy free by using a milk sub of your choice. I personally just do 1 cup of sub vs the 1 1/4 and omit the butter altogether for this. Still perfect yummy cornbread.
