Quinoa Flakes creamy breakfast

When I don’t have time to make quinoa, I cheat and use the flakes which takes about 5 minutes.   Its texture is that of mush maybe (never ate mush) maybe that of a baby rice cereal but with more smooth easy to eat taste.   You just have to try it.

1/3 cup quinoa flakes

1 cup of water

heat the water to boiling and add the flakes.  Let sit for about a minute after stirring and if it isn’t to the thickness you desire pop it in the microwave and cook for 30 seconds at a time till desired consistency.    I like to add1/2 cup applesauce but have also added just cinnamon and sweetener.  Every once in awhile chopped nuts are a nice addition.  This is a dish that can be played with and revised to your individual liking.  So easy to do.

Sweetener:  Stevia, Xylitol
