Chicken Nuggets / French Fries / Fried mushrooms / rutabagas!

Get the theme with this dinner? Fried Fried Fried.  There is no picture attached frankly because we devoured this (all except the rutabaga) fresh out of the fryer!   It was the most amazing night!   Fattening?  Bad?  Good at the same time? awesome?   I could go on forever we stuffed ourselves til even I said enough!

I deep-fried some thin french fries bought in the freezer section of almost any store.  Stashed those in the oven on warm.   Deep fried chicken chunks dipped in almond milk/eggs then seasoned flour.   stashed those in the oven, did the same with the humongous mushrooms my daughter brought home, medium-sized crimini’s.

while all that was cooking/warming I made a dipping sauce………..a sweet, soft, luscious dipping sauce.    1/2 cup water mixed with 1/4 cup corn starch, 1 cup chicken broth, 1/8 cup sweet cooking rice seasoning, 1 cup sugar, 2 tbsp tamari, 2 tbsp sesame oil, garlic powder (sprinkle depending on taste)   boil until thickened then serve as a sauce.

I am a veggie girl, love my fresh veggies don’t generally partake in so much fat so I made a carrot and rutabaga dish thinking I would mainly eat that.  basically I just made french fry size pieces of rutabaga and carrot then put in 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1/2 cup water, 1 tbs lemon juice and a sprinkling of dill weed.   baked it till done.   Good but no comparison to the fried goodies and I found myself putting up the whole pan in the fridge as leftovers.   I did keep munching on them as darned if I dont’ love a good vegetable.   I would have rather ate it raw but this was good too and different.

So our night was fattening, filling, delicious, awesome, again I could go on forever.    What a night we had here at our home.   but I am so so tired right now after standing in front of a deep fat fryer for hours!    time for bed!
