While shopping yesterday my husband found a new gluten free product. All But Gluten, sadly he found it right in the middle of the bread section. When will stores learn that people with Celiac disease or those who stay gluten free are not going to go browsing the bread or bakery section?
Well he made me the happiest wife in the world when he brought me home two of the products to try. I thought I would start crying. He had just come home from a week away business trip and I ran out to hug him then he showed me what he got and well they got the hug instead. Not joking I was jumping up and down and hugging them and just so excited. I did hug my husband too after I finished looking at my new products in amazement.
1st review: All But Gluten White Bread.
I toasted the bread like I do all my bread, but I did give my son a piece without toasting and he liked it just fine. He is a picky eater and can spot the tiniest differences. Even when I change the brand of peanut butter (which I don’t do anymore) he can tell. So that’s a plus for them right there. The bread was crispy on the outside, browned well and was still soft, chewy on the inside. the taste was good, I put some earth balance butter on it and found that I kept taking bite after bite. I was going to put jelly on 1/2 of it but totally threw that idea out the window because I was actually enjoying the bread with just butter. The most important part of any bread test for me is how it soaks up my egg yolk. it passed with flying colors. it soaked it up great, tasted yummy, texture was right on. I really enjoyed this product.
Now on to why I was so so so so (add about 1000 more so’s) excited.
All But Gluten Snack Cakes!
yep you read that right. They look like little Debbie snack cakes. I haven’t had one of those in over 8 years. OH the excitement that welled up in me was unbelievable. But I waited until today to try it. why? the kids are gone, husband at work, house is quiet, I have a pot of coffee I wanted to be totally alone to enjoy this. It was my heaven for the day. It was sweet, it was soft, the taste was perfect, (it was a tad crumbly) the feel and texture of it was endearing and can you tell by now I am totally in love with this product?
I can’t say enough good things, I didn’t find one negative, not even being a little crumbly was a minus for these little cakes. They have a consumer for life!
I hope that All But Gluten steps up and makes more products like these little chocolate snack cakes, because they would make a killing in my opinion.
I could go on and on and on but I won’t bore you it would just be all sweet talk. But I will warn you ahead of time. If you purchase these find a designated hider as you will want to eat the whole box if they don’t get hidden away somewhere. Is that really a bad thing, (dipping my hand into the box for another one) there is more at the store so won’t run out? Hmmm choices choices choices.
