Happy Thanksgiving

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had…..Spending all day plus some of the day before preparing our feast then sitting down to give thanks and seeing it disappear from our plates in 10 minutes and then spending two hours cleaning up and packing it away for left overs.    I am thankful for leftovers as that means no cooking for the week, yeah!  but really where did we get the idea that we have to have 15 different foods, prepared in enormous amounts for 10 minutes of eating?   As a mother that’s no a lot to be thankful for so I am just going to say I am Thankful that God provides and that we did have a big feast to enjoy.

Here is a run down on what we had, nothing sugar-free but all was gluten-free and some even dairy and soy free.   I would like to know what you all had and what tradition concerning foods you keep.   One of our traditions is an oyster stuffing that my husband and I ate while still dating 26 or so years ago.

Turkey, Gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes soufle, rolls, stuffing, oyster stuffing, 7 layer salad, blueberry dream salad, green olives, black olives, sweet pickles, dill pickles, deviled eggs prepared two ways, Pecan pie, pumpkin pie, Apple pie, chocolate chip cookies.

We are a family of 5 so we had plenty to eat.   No one went hungry this Thanksgiving and I hope none of you did either.   Blessings.
