Schar’s Honey Grahams review

christmas graham crackers

A dear friend of mine had me craving graham crackers and frosting since Christmas time, this and memories of my momma. I have had kinnikinick grahams and I am not the biggest fan (keep in mind I grew up on graham crackers so I love the good old-fashioned gluten ones although for the life of me I can’t remember what they really tasted like since its been 7 years) So I found Schar’s grahams. I Like  Shcar’s products but I was not overly impressed with the grahams. I haven’t tried a lot of their stuff but I love the breads, rolls, cookies and pastas so I thought I would love these. Sadly I found them so breakable they were pretty useless for anything other than crumbs or for frosting. I also found them gritty which is a big turn off for me.

They came wrapped in three neat little packages, only a few of them were already broken which is normal and I felt slighted because two packs had 6 little squares but one package only had 4 little squares. It left me wondering why I was not given two of my little squares and yes I do stress over things like that. I love my food. I carefully set out my squares and heated my frosting and piped it onto the crackers. put them together, (so far so good) they looked magnificent and I took a picture because I was so thrilled. then I picked one up and bit into it and it crumbled. the other one crumbled before I bit into it. thinking it was the frosting I ate one plain, nope crumbly. Sigh.

I did enjoy the taste other than the grit so thinking these would make a good pie crust albeit you would have to buy several packages and at $5 a box it would be a rather expensive pie crust.

Sorry Schar, I probably won’t be buying more of the grahams however I love the other things I have tried so far. I would love to try more but being on a budge it’s really hard to test and review all the things I would really want to. I am one tuff food critic so if something gets by me with a thumbs up you know its good, this was just an EH (thumbs sideways because it wasn’t all bad)

  1. Great review, thanks for sharing! I’ve only bought two already-prepared GF foods (Glutino table crackers that I absolutely love, and some rotini pasta I haven’t tried yet). These product reviews are really important to newbies like myself- I won’t be wasting my money on this brand now just to “try it and see”. Thanks again!
