Happy New Year, 2013

New Year’s Day in our home is quite different from other people. We may ring in the new year like other families but we do it as a birthday party for my oldest. She was born at 12:03 am, First baby born in NC. We were in the papers and visited by a 4 star general and people treated us like we were celebrities for a short while. Growing up my daughter thought they shot off fire works and partied around the world just for her, (ahem not sure where she got that idea ahem) Anyway we have a great birthday bash for her every year. It’s not New year’s too me, it’s A new life a new life as a momma, three kids later I am still happy to have become a mommy way back on that special January 1st, 1989.

We do munchies on New Year’s eve like we do on Christmas eve, we will do it again on Super bowl sunday. We should all weigh 300 lbs with all the food celebrations that go on in our home!

anyway our menu consisted of:

cheeses (Muenster, smoked gouda, mont/jack, pepper jack, mozz), Salami, crackers, chips and onion dip, chex mix, spinach dip with bagel bites, cherry cookies, veggies and dip, little smokies in blankets, soda.

then on New Year’s Day we indulged in snickerdoodle muffins shaped into a cake. they tasted more like cinnamon roll muffins but were very good either way!

How did you celebrate your New Year?
