Camping, GFDFSF

I want to get my readers ideas, tips and hints how to stay Gluten/Dairy/Sugar free during the summer on camping trips.  I would love just gluten-free tips, just dairy free or just sugar-free tips as well….. it don’t have to be all three.

Today we embark on our first camping trip and although I admit we are cheating, using an RV it is still challenging with the limited space for foods.  My first priority was trail mix.  We went to the store and bought all the ingredients. (note:  please steer clear of bulk bins, these things can be so cross contaminated) We got peanuts, almonds, cashews, banana chips and enjoy life chocolate chips. (no the enjoy life chips are not sugar-free)  I added raisins to mine as they are a favorite.

Next step was finding a safe jerky, which is almost impossible and if you have the time and money to put into a dehydrator I would suggest making your own but we don’t have that luxury.   so we found one gluten and dairy free one but not sugar-free or soy free.   Arghhhh.

I next made up meal packets for dinner, hamburgers made with 100% pure beef and chicken thighs doused in BBQ sauce and foil wrapped and of course the good old-fashioned hot dogs that is a must with any camping trip.   Fresh veggies were hard to squeeze in but I managed as I can’t go a whole weekend without veggies, that would be roughing it beyond my boundaries.

So Readers!   How do you enjoy camping with Allergies???????
